New Construction
Our wealth of experience allows us to offer you a full range of services to assist you with the design of a vertical
transportation system that will enhance your building design and remain within your budget. Each project is thoroughly
reviewed to ensure that we understand exactly what is required, and we will tailor our service to provide you with the
information you want and need.
Some of the more popular services provided include:
Building traffic evaluation and traffic analysis.
Useful in determining the number, size, and speed of the elevators (and sometimes escalators) needed to handle
the building traffic. The evaluation involves determining how many people will be using the elevators and for
what purpose. The analysis determines how well the proposed vertical transportation system will accommodate the
building's occupants. The typical formal analysis report includes an explanation of the terms and parameters used
as well as a detailed statistical summary of how well the system will satisfy the building population's demands.
Elevator system space requirements.
Sketches showing critical dimensions for the elevator and the elevator shaftway or hoistway in plan and section,
including the machine room and machine room equipment. Along with the sketches we typically provide an estimate
of the structural loads the elevator equipment will place on the building, the approximate
heat loads that the elevator equipment will generate, and the elevator equipment
electrical requirements.
Specifications.
We prepare the complete elevator specification following the CSI format written in your preferred word processing
program. Microsolft Word® and Coral Word Perfect® are very popular but other programs are available. A copy of
the specification can be provided via e-mail, or on diskette (or other media of your choice), or hard (paper) copy,
or any combination of the above.
Bid Review.
Sometimes, bids are received that are "per plans and specs., except..." The low bidder wants to do something a
little differently. We can review these exceptions, alternates, etc., with you to ensure that you get the best
possible equipment and the best possible installation.
Final Performance Evaluations.
In almost every locality there is an authority that performs a final inspection of the elevator equipment before
it is permitted to be put into service. The equipment is checked for compliance with the governing codes and
general safety. If the specification has included definite performance items such as "floor-to-floor" times or
"motor temperature rise," then these items also need to be checked before the customer accepts the equipment.
The objective is to provide you with the information and services that you need in a format that is most useful to you.
