Repair
Repair is an area that usually doesn't need consulting services. Part of
the elevator is broken or not functioning properly; the service mechanic or
repair crew replaces it or makes the necessary adjustments. The job is done.
But sometimes the job isn't getting done. Perhaps your being told the
elevator is too old to repair, you should replace it or modernize it.
And that may well be true. But between the elevator work and building work
that may be necessary to bring everything up to code you could easily spend
$200,000 or more. That may not be in the budget right now.
Over the years we have surveyed and evaluated thousands of elevators.
Some needed to be modernized and some needed to be repaired. A few
(like a 150 year old freight elevator we recently surveyed) just needed to
be replaced (it was a totally manual elevator with no electrical system - it
didn't even have a light bulb in the car).
When necessary, we work with code officials and the service/repair company to
ensure that the finished product meets everyone's requirements.
On one extraordinary project, a needed elevator was being left out of
service because the repair estimates were over $100,000. Our detailed
review of the equipment with all concerned parties resulted in a repair job
that cost slightly over $30,000.
We may never encounter another project where we are able to achieve such
remarkable savings for our customer. We may not even be able to save you
money on your project. But you can be certain that the money you do spend, gets
you the most value for each and every dollar.
We can help you make the informed decisions needed before you spend your
money. Our analysis will provide you with the viable options for your
equipment and your needs.
